Proud of my girl...
Since yesterday: she has read all of the library books she checked out yesterday, written two pages in her journal, used Word to plan her daily schedule (and followed it) and sent an email to her grandma. She chose to do all of this completely on her own. I honestly didn't even suggest she do any of them, though the schedule was inspired by our math book.
Unschooling at its finest! Her reading and handwriting have improved so dramatically since the beginning of this year. We are working steadily through her math book, and she really enjoys playing with multiplication these days. Her cousin and her actually think it is fun to quiz each other in math!!
I feel like she is becoming such a nice person, too. She plays well with the kids at all of her various classes, while remaining true to her own ideals. She is bothered that some kids at theatre take the name of the Lord in vain, but she has resolved to just "be a good example," by not doing the same, even going so far as requesting her lines in a play be changed.
I am so glad that we are homeschooling!
